I have been working with RFID of late and a great aid to showing and demos of RFID is the little Phigits device, whilst it’s not anything like a production device it’s great to use as part of POC projects or demos.

Irving De la Cruz has kindly generated a DSPI (Device Service Provider Interface) for the BizTalk RFID interface, and provided the source code if you wish to develop your own. Please find it below:

There are other more mainstream providers of RFID devices of which Microsoft assures me will ship with their own DSPI driver, or it will be available via download.

Manufacturers like Intermec, Alien, or Motorola, I have used the Motorola device, very high performance and quite heavy duty for Warehouse doors.

Most of the vendors support all of their models – check out MS partners at http://www.microsoft.com/biztalk/technologies/rfid/default.mspx
